My Favorite Types of Wedding Photos

I love this time of year! The flowers are finally here in Virginia, and the days are warm. Summer is close.

Perfect for days of love and marriage.

Favorite Types of Wedding Photographs.

(1) Emotional candid moments and (2) Small, intimate details. These are my most favorite types of wedding photos, but bridal portraits follow at a very close second.

Emotional Wedding Photography..

can be a long embrace between the groom and his mother, or the bride’s mother lovingly looking at her daughter as she helps her with her jewelry just before the ceremony.

These special wedding day moments are usually happening behind the scenes, and I have a knack for finding them.

These moments are simply magical and usually get the biggest response from my wedding clients when they see their photos.

Bridal Portraits are a close Second..

and are usually one of the most important photography moments of your wedding day.

Actual wedding days are typically a little, or a lot, hectic.

In most cases there’s a small window of time for bridal portraits, right after the ceremony.

Since the couple just literally got married, couples will sometimes not be 100% into their bridal portraits.

A lot of times, they just want a drink and to say hello to their guests, so these photos can be super quick, then the couple is off to celebrate.

For that reason only, bridal portraits are my second favorite type of wedding photos.

Ideally, I always want at least 30 minutes for bridal portraits, and instead, I’ll sometimes get 5 minutes lol.

There is definitely more to wedding photography that I love, but these were my top picks.
