Congrats! You’re ENGAGED!
This is such an exciting time for y’all. Soon, a special day and a promise to love one another forever.
I swoon over love stories and adore photographing the chemistry between couples.
I get really excited when Couples ask me for Engagement Photos!
The details of the ring, a twinkle in the eyes, or a genuine laugh – all make for great memories that I look to capture during engagement sessions. I especially love incorporating sentimental details into my sessions. A person, a location, an item – I’m all about telling my couples love story in unique ways!
Engagement Photos
If you’ve decided to have engagement photos done and need some ideas for when to schedule or what types of backgrounds to use, this last part is for you!
I recommend deciding on an engagement session early in the game.
Usually around a year before the wedding. A year allows a lot of flexibility for y’all to decide on when and where to take your engagement photos.
Less than a year is okay too, engagement photos can be taken right before the wedding or in front of the courthouse. So no pressure, really.
Ideally, your photographer just needs to know:
- Any details to incorporate into the shoot
- Any location or scenery requests
- Any specific colors or styles preferred
Some Engagement Session Ideas.
If outdoor engagement photos are a favorite, then a decision needs to be made on which season and what background is most desired.
If pretty pastel colors are appealing, a spring engagement session, outdoors at a park or a courtyard, would be gorgeous. Libraries, universities, or parks are great options.
If more rustic oranges and reds are appealing, a fall engagement session, outdoors with tall trees and open natural spaces, would be amazing.
Sometimes, couples prefer old buildings, tall wheat grass or in-studio sessions. It really just depends on what works best for your story – and I’m here to help you tell it!
